Southern Cross University and Poornima University (Jaipur, India) recently signed a partnership to launch a new pathway into the Bachelor of Business: the BBA Global Business program.

Thanks to this new initiative, students will be able to begin their degree at Poornima University in India (first year) and complete it at Southern Cross University in Australia (second and third years). This combined three-year program will provide students with global exposure, industry-relevant knowledge, and a truly international learning experience.

In addition, the two universities launched a new research partnership with the launch of a Sports Analytics and Events Management Lab in Jaipur, India.

These partnerships were unveiled at a launch event by the Indian Premier League team, the Rajasthan Royals, an official partner of Poornima University.

"This initiative marks a bold step into the future of global business education and research. In partnership with Poornima University and the Rajasthan Royals, we're not just creating pathways but a launchpad for future leaders," said Professor Darshana Sedera, Associate Dean (International and Engagement), Faculty of Business, Law and Arts.

The new Bachelor of Business Pathway Program offers students a clear route to study internationally, gain exposure to global business practices, and transition smoothly into Southern Cross University's degree programs in Australia.

"I'd like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Professor Darshana for her continued support and collaboration. This partnership with Southern Cross University is just the beginning, and we're excited to unveil even more opportunities for our students in the near future," said Dr Swati Gokhru, Dean of International Relations at Poornima University.

The launch event included a Q&A session with Rajasthan Royals players Yashasvi Jaiswal, Maheesh Theekshana and Tushar Deshpande, where students had the opportunity to connect with their heroes and touch on several topics, from career dreams to even fashion.

Representing the support of the Australian Government was Neha Grover, Senior Director International Education at the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade).

"We are truly honoured to have Neha Grover from the Australian Government join us in this celebration. Her presence underscores the importance of international partnerships in shaping the future of education and empowering our students," said Subhi Pradhan, Regional Manager (South Asia) at Southern Cross University.
