OAS, Fundación Taeda Unite to Combat Organized Crime

OAS

The Organization of American States (OAS) and Fundación Taeda today signed a cooperation agreement to join efforts with governments, the private sector, and academia in the fight against organized crime in the Americas.

During the signing ceremony, held at OAS headquarters in Washington, DC, OAS Secretary General Luis Almagro stated, "With this signing, we are taking a firm step toward a safer region. We know that the fight against organized crime will only be effective if it is based on international cooperation and the active participation of our societies, always placing human dignity at the center."

For his part, Fundación TAEDA President Mario Montoto thanked the Secretary General for his willingness to cooperate and expressed his belief that "with effort and commitment, we can move forward together on the principles and goals of this agreement."

Since its founding in 2008, Fundación Taeda has consistently worked to analyze and address the evolving challenges facing countries in the Americas. Its central purpose is to contribute to the region's sustainable development by promoting conditions that support equitable progress and a more prosperous shared future.
