Modern Modular Classrooms To Meet Growing Demand

The Allan Labor Government is making sure every Victorian gets a great education close to home - supporting schools to meet growing enrolments with state-of-the-art modular classrooms.

Deputy Premier and Minister for Education Ben Carroll today announced four new modular buildings will be delivered to schools across Victorian later this year, as part of the Labor Government's investment in additional classrooms to help create more learning spaces.

Donnybrook Primary School, Warreen Primary School and Horseshoe Bend Primary School will each receive one modular building, providing an additional 100 enrolment places at each school.

Staughton College will also receive one modular building, providing an additional 75 places to meet increasing demand.

These modular buildings incorporate the latest innovations to provide teachers and students with modern learning environments.

They include double-glazed windows and improved insulation to reduce heat loss, special wall and ceiling linings to reduce internal noise reverberation, energy efficient design and external window shades.

Each have a flexible layout making them easy to adapt for different teaching and learning needs, while offering extra space to help meet increasing demand.

For the 2025 school year, the Government has invested $152.4 million to deliver additional classrooms in areas of need.

The program will fund the construction and delivery of 166 newly manufactured buildings to address enrolment growth.

The Labor Government has invested $18.5 billion over the past 11 years to deliver more than 2,300 school upgrades and 123 new schools in the Education State.
